We've all heard/seen/been drowned in promotions for Nine, being released on Christmas Day. Turns out it was inspired by Fellini's 8 1/2.

One of his muses was Claudia Cardinale, she's pictured above in 1960, and she's featured in a lovely slideshow - along with other inspirations Anouk Aimée, Anita Ekberg, and Giulietta Masina (whom he later married) - here.

Park Avenue Living

So this spread - which I saw years ago in Town & Country and finally just found digitally - makes me convinced (even more than before) that I want to be Kate Spade. I want her Park Avenue apartment, I want her cute little relationship with her cute little husband, I want those pups, and I want to be wildly successful - though probably not in that order

It took 12 months to renovate the place and another three years to decorate. Steven Sclaroff designed, and he did a pretty excellent job. I'll be sure to give him a ring when it comes time for my abode on Park

Into the Woods

I'm dying for these illustrations by for "Bambi - A Life in the Woods," a book published in Czechoslovakia in 1967. The ink and watercolor combination is so beautiful and there's a lovely sense of movement and stillness in them

How wonderful would they be framed in a child's bedroom? It goes without saying that they'd be stunning in my own apartment as well

One Line A Day

Lord knows I've tried to keep a diary before. I write so much during the day that writing a formal "Dear Diary" entry every day is just too much for me to deal with. Maybe it's the romantic in me, but there is something so lovely about keeping a log of your thoughts, and with only a few lines to fill a day, this looks like the perfect way to sum up the next five years of my life.
