. . . until {the above} is happening
Looks like whimsy is the name of the game with animal portraits these days. How cute is this one?
Of all the houses of all the designers of all the places in the world, Lanvin might just be my favorite. Alber Elbaz is absolutely incredible - must be something about Morocco, which is where Elbez hails from, along with YSL himself. His emphasis on making sure women love themselves in his clothing is genius, totally inspired, totally original and always, always chic.
Some British Vogue editors were lunching at The Wolseley and came across this Argentinian beauty wearing a vintage (gorgeous) coat and Topshop earrings.
These are amazing. I would like one of each, please, that I can place in a huge graphic formation on the wall above my record player. Playful and punchy and whimsical and fun

These images have followed me around for years. They've hung in every office, work space, inspiration board, and tear sheet binder I've had for the past two years (at least). The first and second are one of my favorite combinations of classic and feminine and the third is a movie poster for the 1966 Czech film The Knack, which I think is totally beautiful and very cool

This delightful sir built a Porsche 356 Speedster over a 1956 VW frame. He says it's but "$32 a month to insure, gets 30 miles to the gallon and if somebody opens their door into me, I don't care, I go buy another door."

I hope to look exactly like this strutting down Prince Street on a chilly autumn weekend morning, on my way to friends and brunch
September 2009 Elle, shot by Yelena Yemchuk. Complete spread available here. Elle's been really great lately and I've been contemplating a subscription (!). . . something unthinkable a few years ago

So confusing. I've just acquired a new fleur-de-lis wax seal set and can't wait to start a slew of hand-typed-and-sealed correspondence with my oldest and dearest
The beyond-gorgeous Lakshmi Menon in Vogue India 2009. Just too beautiful for words
We see many, many fashion week invites here at the office so it's always interesting to me to see the different kinds sent out. These are actually model cards from One Management, but as you can see are totally, totally unique - even in a sea of company info. Inspired by the iconic Richard Avedon prints, they superimposed the model on the print.

This is the home of Mark Badgley and James Mischka. We all know how I feel about the South, but if I could live on a horse farm like this one - and we all remember, I'm sure, my reignited love of horses - complete with Hermès saddles and a vintage Mercedes, then I'd move down this instant.
